Norwegians prefer Nordic Patent Institute

Figures for 2010 confirm the fact that Nordic Patent Institute is now the preferred PCT Authority in Norway.

Since its founding in 2008, the proportion of PCT applications filed at the Institute by Norwegian customers has increased from 16% to 41%. EPO is used by 39% and PRV by 20%.

One firm of patent agents who frequently use Nordic Patent Institute, is Håmsø Patentbyrå ANS.

It is important for the Norwegian intellectual property community to ensure that the required expertise is maintained at the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO). This is, among other things, one important reason underlying our decision to use the services of the affiliated Nordic Patent Institute.

According to statistics from NIPO, Håmsø Patentbyrå ANS is the Norwegian intellectual property agent that submits most applications at Nordic Patent Institute. We therefore have some experience with the services of the Institute.

So far we have been satisfied with Institute's prosecution of those applications submitted. The cases are, in our experience, examined swiftly, and we find it easy to get in contact with the Nordic Patent Institute examiners.

We will therefore continue to use the Institute as a competent PCT Authority for our international applications.
