Quality Management

Nordic Patent Institute has established a Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. The system covers all services offered and consists of three levels.

  • Level 1 describes the policy, goals and organisation of the Institute. In addition a brief outline of the products is given. See Quality Management System (PDF)
  • Level 2 contains procedures for handling of the QA system
  • Level 3 contains the procedures for the daily operation of Nordic Patent Institute.

Nordic Patent Institute is working towards an ISO certification of its Quality Management System.

Search and Preliminary examination of PCT applications and the search and analysis for private customers is carried out by examiners of the Danish and Norwegian patent offices on behalf of Nordic Patent Institute. Service Level Agreements are negotiated and signed annually between NPI and the Danish Patent Office and the Norwegian Industrial Property Offices setting out the terms for the work carried out on by the national patent offices on behalf of Nordic Patent Institute.

The Danish and Norwegian patent offices both have well defined quality systems which are both certified under the ISO 9001 standard.
