Special Agreement with EPO
The European Patent Office (EPO) and Nordic Patent Institute have signed a special agreement on matters relating to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
The purpose of the Agreement is to establish a framework for future cooperation. Both parties consider it of prime importance that the application of the Treaty in Europe be characterized by harmonisation of search activities, and a high and uniform level of quality.
A supplementary Agreement provides applicants who have used Nordic Patent Institute as an International Searching Authority (ISA), a reduction of 890 EURO in the European supplementary search when they continue in the regional phase at EPO.
