Nordic Patent Institute performs searches and examinations in the patent area for other patent offices around the world within all fields of technology.

What all patent authories have in common is that the right they grant is national, but the search for prior art is global. Therefore, the search does not necessarily have to be performed by the local national authority.

The Institute's member countries have a long tradition of performing searches and examinations for other patent offices. For this purpose, Nordic Patent Institute makes it's highly technically qualified examiners availiable. Our patent case processing procedures are ISO 9000 certified.

The Institute's examiners have developed skills in conforming to the national requests and the rules that apply in the countries of our contract partners. Our work is in each case based on an individual contract between us and the relevant foreign patent office. Each contract sets its own standards for quality, delivery time etc.
